In this section, we look at how the course works and how you compete it. This course is the blended part one, you must complete a practical part two before you can receive the official regulated qualification. This can be completed through ProTrainings and our approved centres. Contact us if you have not booked your part two yet and we can arrange this locally for you.
This section begins with scene safety, asking permission to help. and risk assessment. You will learn your responsibilities as a First Responder before we look at how to do an initial assessment and the Mechanism of Injury (MOI). We look at how the environment can be important in establishing the cause of an accident and hazards that may cause risk. Finally, you will learn about the different kinds of ProTective Personal Equipment (PPE) and how to select and use the correct one.

In this section, you will learn about Infection Control, the different types of infections, how they can be spread and how to protect both yourself and the casualty.
This section is about casualty management and handover once the Emergency Services arrive.

Initial Patient Care includes consent to help, what we should do while waiting for the E.M.S, the Chain of Survival, and the use of Medications in First Aid.
In this section, you will learn about Airway Management and the use of Suction Devices.
This section looks at breathing and bag valve mask equipment. You will learn to recognise and treat a casualty who has respiratory injuries and those who are choking.
Heart Attacks can be a common first aid emergency and in this section, you will learn the signs and symptoms associated with heart attack, how to assist somebody you suspect is having a heart attack, and the best position for them to be in while you wait for the Emergency Services, including the use of aspirin and pulse oximetry.
In this section, we look at adult, child, and infant CPR, including advanced techniques and ways you can improve your breaths and compressions. This section also includes AED use and a full CPR scenario.
In this section, we look at the different types of bleeding and how to treat them, including the correct use of dressings, tourniquets and haemostatic dressings.
In this section, we learn about heat and cold emergencies, the stages, symptoms, and treatment of Hypothermia and Heat Exhaustion/ Stroke.
In this section, you will learn about oxygen and the use of medical gasses when providing prehospital care.
In this section, we cover a number of medical emergencies caused by injury or accident and their diagnosis and treatment, including the use of spinal boards, stretchers, and cervical collars.
Following on from the previous section, here we look at medical emergencies that may result from illness, these include allergic reactions and anaphylaxis, poisoning, epilepsy, asthma, and diabetes.
In this section, we look at different trauma injuries you may come across. The first is pelvic injuries, then spinal injuries and how to use box splints for fractured bones.
In summary, you will find important information on how to complete the final test, print your certificate of completion, and the requirements for attending your practical training.
